MAY 2012 News & Name-dropping:

SAVE THE DATE:  Positive Women: exposing injustice, a powerful and cinematically stunning 45 minute documentary produced and directed by Alison Duke investigating the criminalization of HIV women living in Canada for non disclosure will screen on June 14th, 2012 at the ROM Eaton Theatre. The project was commissioned by the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network and premiered in Ottawa in February 2012 to coincide with the timing of the Supreme Court of Canada revisiting the law on disclosure and significant risk. The Toronto premiere of Positve Women will "kick-off" a 12 city natioanl tour. Early press in the Globe and Mail and on CBC's The Current is creating a buzz about this film and we are very proud of the results.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN-PRODUCTION: We have wrapped filming of The Women on the Move documentary for the Redwood shelter: for women and children fleeing abuse a two year production following their innovative in-house program currently helping women to turn their lives around after shelter life. This project is scheduled for release at the end of 2012. Bruce McDonald's, A Love Supreme continues production this summer. The post production team includes several exciting creators, such as editor's Jeremy Munch (Hard Core Logo2, Pontypool) and Maureen Grant (Yonge Street: Toronto Rock & Roll stories) and composers Telepathetic Outtakes' Justin Small and Ohad (aka Broken Social Scene) and the formidable Peter Lynch as a creative consultant.
